At 15, he began his blacksmithing journey under the tutelage of John Smith at Kootenay Forge, quickly rising to become head blacksmith at Fort Steele Heritage Town near Cranbrook by age 20. In 2001, at 26, Paul founded his own blacksmithing business and continues to be captivated by the stunning landscapes of the Kootenay region.

Meet Paul Reimer, whose deep love for nature continues to fuel his artistic passion today.
Born in Calgary, Alberta, his family moved to British Columbia’s Crawford Bay area when he was just six, where he found himself captivated by the stunning landscapes of the Kootenay region.
At 15, he began his blacksmithing journey under the tutelage of John Smith at Kootenay Forge, quickly rising to become head blacksmith at Fort Steele Heritage Town near Cranbrook by age 20. In 2001, at 26, Paul founded his own blacksmithing business, which has since grown to include six skilled employees.
Now based in Cranbrook with his wife and two children, Paul prioritizes family and community. His early public art projects in Cranbrook fostered deep connections within the community, a spirit he continues to spread to cities far and wide, leaving a positive impact wherever he goes.
